AFTERCARE
The healing process may take longer if aftercare is not followed. It is extremely important to follow all instructions to get the best healing results. Failure to follow may result in poor pigment retention.
The healing process is generally 7-14 days but will vary by person.
Day of procedure:
Following the procedure, gently blot brows with damp paper towel every hour for the next 6 hours. This will prevent the eyebrows from producing a thick crust from the lymphatic fluid which will allow for better healing. Always use clean hands.
Do not get brows wet for 24 hours.
24 hours after:
You may start to gently cleanse brows twice daily with gentle fragrant free soap (Baby soap, Cetaphil, Cera-ve). Use a dabbing motion. Do not wipe or rub.
Pat dry with paper towel. Avoid using cloth.
3 days after:
Apply a rice grain amount of the ointment provided to both eyebrows using a q-tip. Apply to dry brows after cleansing.
AVOID:
Avoid activities that will cause excessive sweating 3-5 days after the procedure (gym, sauna, hot yoga etc). This may cause the pigment to blur.
Refrain from touching, picking, pulling or scratching brow area while healing.
Avoid water contact and prolonged exposure to water for 7 days (other than cleansing). No swimming in large bodies of water/pools, avoid hot saunas.
No makeup, sunscreen, moisturizers, creams or oils on treatment area while healing.
Avoid products with active ingredients like AHA/BHA, glycolic/ salicylic acids during healing process and 2 weeks after.
Avoid harsh chemical peels, face scrubs and exfoliators .
Avoid retinol for 4 weeks on the brow area and above.
Avoid tanning or direct sun exposure for 14 days.
Avoid sleeping on your face.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Brows generally heal within 7-14 days, though this can vary based on lifestyle, skin type, age, and medications. Immediately after the procedure, expect some redness, swelling, and a white halo effect around the brows, which will subside within 24 hours.
Initially, brows will appear dark and bold, then begin to scab. As the scabs form, you may feel tightness, itching, or flaking. Avoid rubbing, picking, or scratching to prevent pigment loss or uneven healing.
Once the scabs fall off, the brows may appear lighter (the "ghosting" stage), but the color will gradually darken over 4-6 weeks. It’s normal for some areas to retain less pigment, and a touch-up may be needed.
Once fully peeled, you can resume normal activities. Discontinue ointment use and protect your brows with sunscreen to prevent fading from sun exposure.
